RN Enhanced Float Pool-Women's/Infants Division (Full Time 36 Hours), West Penn Hospital
About The Position
West Penn Hospital, a Magnet® recognized facility, is seeking highly trained expert RNs for its Float Pool within the Women and Infant’s Division. This role involves covering all areas of specialty and clinical expertise within the division, which includes a 63-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 33-bed Postpartum and Newborn Nursery Unit (Mother/Baby), and the Obstetrics Department with 15 Labor & Delivery beds, 6 Triage Rooms, 3 C-Section Operating Rooms, 4 PACU beds, and a 20-bed antepartum unit. Nurses in this pool are cross-trained to work in all these areas. This position offers a $7/hour additional allowance on top of the base rate per the West Penn CBA.
Requirements
- 2 years acute care nursing experience in Women and Infant Care
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation NRP
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- CPR certification
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Certification within the OB, Women's specialty care
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
- Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
- Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
- Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
