About The Position

This position requires a Registered Nurse with a graduate degree from an approved School of Nursing. The role involves providing immediate and effective nursing care to Emergency Room patients, functioning well in stressful and true emergency situations. The nurse will demonstrate understanding and tact in dealing with patients and visitors, cooperate with various agencies and staff, and accurately identify and assess problems while exercising good judgment. Effective working relationships with physicians and other professional staff are essential, as is the ability to care for patients of all populations. The role requires adapting quickly and efficiently to stressful situations and maintaining control of the Emergency Room setting during encounters.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse license currently licensed by the State of Indiana
  • CPR
  • ACLS/PALS prior to completion of orientation
  • TNCC within two years
  • General knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and the therapeutic modalities for intervention of each specific arrhythmia
  • Overall understanding of Emergency Room Nursing
  • Possesses or is willing to acquire the special knowledge and skills required to implement safe, immediate and effective nursing care to each Emergency Room patient
  • Functions well in stressful and true emergency situations
  • Demonstrates understanding and tact in dealing with patients and visitors
  • Cooperates with law enforcement agencies, coroners, physicians, and all other hospital staff
  • Identifies and assesses problems and situations accurately while exercising good judgment
  • Establishes effective working relationships with physicians and other professional staff
  • Exhibits the ability to care for patients of all populations
