About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Adventist Health Clear Lake. The role involves providing direct patient care, including assessments, administering medications, monitoring patient status, and handling emergency situations. The nurse will maintain accurate documentation, adhere to all organizational and regulatory requirements, and contribute to a professional and compassionate healthcare environment. The position serves pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

Requirements

  • At least one year Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months or EMT and ED Tech with a minimum of 2 years experience & in good standing.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
  • Evidence of current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • All associates receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
  • Acknowledge that you have accessed and read the E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices and understand the contents therein.

Nice To Haves

  • MICN desired to be completed within one year of hire.
  • NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • Prepare, administer, monitor and discontinue IV fluids.
  • Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his or her clinical condition.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner.
  • Meets charge nurse expectations as assigned.
  • Meets professional behavior expectations and guest services expectations.
  • Provides a professional environment and professional appearance while on hospital grounds.
  • Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
  • Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
