About The Position

The Emergency Department at Hartford Hospital is a dynamic team environment, serving as a Level I Trauma Center, a chest pain center, and a comprehensive stroke center. It is one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Connecticut, treating patients with the highest acuity in the region. The department consists of 109 beds, including a 19-bed ED Observation Unit, and manages an average of 109,000 patients annually. Hartford Hospital also houses the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), a leading medical simulation training center. Additionally, the ED is home to Life Star, the state's first Critical Care helicopter service. The ED RNs have received the National Lantern Award for Excellence in Nursing.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN degree required; ASN/ADN RNs with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Current Connecticut RN license required prior to start date.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association is required prior to date of hire.
  • Previous acute care RN experience preferred, however new graduate RNs are welcomed and encouraged to apply.
