The RN Emergency Department position is located at Blodgett Emergency Department, a community-based hospital with a big city feel that is part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids. Blodgett ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center and Geriatric Emergency Department (Level 2). It has over 30 care spaces to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. The interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for patients and their loved ones. Blodgett ED has over 43,000 visits/year and ranks highly in patient experience and exceeds throughput measures compared to the national average. Blodgett Hospital has a history of providing high quality, compassionate and personalized medical care. It provides patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical and specialty care, achieving high rates of patient satisfaction. The scope of work involves delivering nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. This includes demonstrating competency through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and upholding the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA (ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health).
