The Piedmont Henry Emergency Department sees 75,000-90,000 visits per year and is licensed for 59 beds. It operates with a 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio and is a Level III trauma center. The department is responsible for triage and assessment of patient complaints, medical screening exams by qualified medical providers, and treatment plans based on assessments. They also manage appropriate drug therapy, critically ill patients, and provide patient discharge education. The department is a Fully Accredited Stroke Center and recently added an 18-bed Cardiac Observation Unit that works closely with the ED. The multidisciplinary team includes ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience, and Patient Access.
