Requirements

Graduation from an accredited RN program.
Must meet all CEU requirements mandated by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Must maintain current registration and valid license with the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Must maintain knowledge in all areas of nursing.
Must maintain certification in BLS.
Must maintain certification in ACLS.
Must maintain certification in PALS.
Must maintain certification in TNCC.
Must maintain certification in NRP.
Effective communication skills.
Critical thinking skills.
Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Teach and support patients, families, and significant others, ensuring they understand their health and treatment plans.
Supervise and direct the activities of LPNs and CNAs, maintaining the highest standards of professional nursing practice.
Serve patients of all ages across various nursing care areas.
