Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited RN program.
  • Must meet all CEU requirements mandated by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • Must maintain current registration and valid license with the Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • Must maintain knowledge in all areas of nursing.
  • Must maintain certification in BLS.
  • Must maintain certification in ACLS.
  • Must maintain certification in PALS.
  • Must maintain certification in TNCC.
  • Must maintain certification in NRP.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Teach and support patients, families, and significant others, ensuring they understand their health and treatment plans.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of LPNs and CNAs, maintaining the highest standards of professional nursing practice.
  • Serve patients of all ages across various nursing care areas.
