About The Position

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and applicable state and specialty standards. Working with medical providers and the care team, the nurse provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The nurse advocates for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting positive clinical outcomes and an outstanding patient experience.

This is a PRN opportunity. The position requires an associate degree and an active Registered Nurse qualification. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within six months of employment. No experience or travel is required.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in their status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care promptly and thoroughly in the patient record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action for unintended medication responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to support understanding.
• Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to deliver comprehensive care and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
