About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing diabetes education in inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as through community and professional education services. The position is scheduled for 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role is based at St. Tammany Health System in Covington, Louisiana.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program for the relevant healthcare profession (Registered Nurse).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• At least three years of clinical experience.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course. The course must include a manikin check-off.

Nice To Haves

• Diabetes education experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting is highly preferred.
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification is strongly preferred.
• Applicants are encouraged to complete the CDCES certification examination within six months of obtaining the required experience hours and no later than two years from the date of hire.
