About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Diabetes Health Educator- Pediatrics to bring your CDCES Certification and/or BC-ADM and/or Diabetes ambulatory RN experience to the UW Health Pediatric Specialty Clinic. You will provide education to pediatric patients and their families on a wide variety of topics with an emphasis on diabetes education. A passion for education and helping patients manage their diabetes will be crucial to success in this role. You will systematically and continuously collect and assess data related to patient health status in order to develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care. You will also establish goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or care providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
  • 3 years of RN experience Required
  • Certification by the National Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 2 Yrs Required or Board Certified - Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) within 2 Yrs Required
  • Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required

  • Experience as a Diabetes Educator Preferred
