This role involves utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients. The RN will administer prescribed medications and treatments, perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, and document according to standards. A key responsibility is developing, initiating, and executing patient care plans tailored to individual needs, including patient and family instruction. The position requires teaching and supporting patient and family education, resolving systems breakdowns, and participating in performance improvement activities. The RN will also utilize clinical expertise to guide other units, apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, and escalate issues as needed. Engagement in professional nursing development, continuous learning, and contributing to evidence-based practice guidelines are also expected. Illinois requires 10 hours of continued education for licensure.
