Requirements

  • Accredited program or (2) two years minimum, required for this position.
  • A major focus or specialization in Nursing.
  • 1 year of Pre/op and PACU experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.

  • Ability to monitor patients' health and communicate changes efficiently to nursing staff and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to provide top-notch, patient-centered care that honors patient diversity, using the nursing process and following nursing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care using the nursing practice model.
  • Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop personalized care plans.
  • Regularly assess patient responses.
  • Help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the system to prevent complications and delays.
  • Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
  • Use careful clinical judgment to assess patients and prioritize their needs.
  • Create and adjust care plans for better results.
  • Assess nursing practices to ensure quality and effectiveness, which may involve tracking indicators, making changes based on research, and joining quality improvement initiatives.
  • Teach patients and staff, integrating education into care at all levels.
  • Use systems thinking strategies and resources to solve problems for patients, families, and staff.
  • Enhance nursing practice and work environment through professionalism.
  • Contribute to decision-making and recognize others' contributions meaningfully.
