About The Position

Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity. Patient Population: Cardiac, EP and Vascular Procedure patients- cardiac catheterizations, Ablations, amulets, pacemakers, extremity angiograms, EVARS, extremity vascular stenting. Ratios: 1:3/4 for nurses | 8 day surgery beds, 6 recovery room beds.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 yrs Cardiac experience, PCU or higher
  • TX TN, BLS, ACLS
  • Registered Nurse License
  • Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
  • Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
  • Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
  • Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.

  • CVICU experience or Cardiac Stepdown experience

  • Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
  • Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.
