The Critical Care Transport Nurse demonstrates a professional commitment to patients, team members, hospital physicians, nurses, EMTs, and other personnel. This role supports the mission and values of the ProMedica Health system by providing quality service in a safe and therapeutic environment. The nurse is responsible for continuous professional development, maintaining certifications, and contributing to unit goals. Key duties include precise documentation of treatment interventions, assessment, and medications, as well as stabilizing and treating patients in the field or at transferring facilities until delivery to a designated treatment facility. The position requires adherence to regulatory agency requirements, ProMedica policies, and state regulations for Ohio and Michigan, including participation in outreach efforts and teaching continuing education programs. The nurse must demonstrate skill competency and safety in performing technical procedures and treatments such as IV drips, mechanical ventilation, Impella devices, balloon pump therapy, cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and various airway management skills for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
