About The Position
Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking an RN Surgical for Vascular Surgery in the St. Matthews area. This is a Full Time, First Shift position. We are looking for individuals who want to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation.
Requirements
- Associate's degree - ASN required
- RN License required
- BLS required
Nice To Haves
- RN surgical experience preferred
- If no surgical experience, RN will need to take peri-op 101 course within 8 weeks (60 days) post hire.
Responsibilities
- Completes and documents initial and ongoing patient assessments based on population served.
- Provides Pre/Post Op nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Establishes specific, realistic, and measurable goals.
- Develops an individualized plan of care/education for each patient/family upon admission.
- Initiates and participates in transitions of care in collaboration with hospital and community resources.
- Collaborates with the inter-professional team and updates the plan appropriately.
- Implements nursing actions in a safe, timely manner.
- Utilizes appropriate technology to provide safe care.
- Exercises clinical reasoning in care delivery.
- Implements physician orders in a timely manner.
- Manages emergency situations appropriately.
- Implements patient and family education plan.
- Practices safe medication handling and administration.
- Collaborates with the inter-professional team.
- Preps patients for procedures.
- Sets up rooms for sterile procedures.
- Monitors patients during procedures.
- Assists the Surgeon during sterile procedures.
