About The Position

The RN Clinical Supervisor participates in the daily operations of the department under the supervision of a nurse manager or director. The role supports patient care by providing clinical and operational guidance, developing and maintaining a capable team, and helping ensure compliance with professional, hospital, and quality standards. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, employee orientation and assessment, performance-related input, recruitment support, accountability for policies and care delivery, and inspection and safety rounds. The position works day shifts at Touro, part of LCMC Health.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
At least 1 year of nursing experience in a relevant specialty area.

BSN from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in the department’s daily operations under the supervision of a nurse manager or director.
Maintain knowledge of clinical practices and departmental operations and act as a resource.
Audit nursing documentation, report findings, and educate the team about professional and JCAHO requirements.
Prepare, monitor, and modify staff schedules with manager/director approval, based on department needs and appropriate skill mix.
Conduct new employee orientation, develop materials, assign preceptors, and conduct assessments as needed.
Provide input for performance evaluations and handle personnel matters as delegated by the department manager or director.
Collaborate with department leaders in interviewing and selecting candidates for open positions.
Attend recruitment events and represent the department when requested.
Maintain team accountability for hospital policies and procedures and delivery of care services.
Inspect the department and conduct patient, safety, and environmental rounds.
Participate in and monitor compliance with core measure initiatives and quality standards.
