Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma or Bachelors in Nursing plus 4 years clinical experience with 2 years in specialty area and 2 years in leadership role
  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • Special project involvement, experience as RN IV, Charge Nurse, or Team Lead
  • Active BLS
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively
  • Ability to document services provided
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance organizations/agencies
  • Prefer applicant is knowledgeable in medical terminology
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Understands and abides by confidentiality policies

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and designs training and/or educational programs to address identified deficiencies/learning needs.
  • Understands and assures the use of adult learning principles and culturally appropriate initiatives and imparts this knowledge to faculty/staff as appropriate.
  • Identify barriers or concerns which interfere with the learning process and suggests alternatives for resolution.
  • Consults with departments, staff, and managers to determine goals.
  • Establish and lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Takes proactive approach toward patients and family.
  • Always respectful of others.
  • Always uses appropriate communication, both verbal and written.
  • Maintain privacy/confidentiality. Available and responsive to customers.
  • Promotes a safe working environment by complying with department, institutional safety policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Observes safe work practices and provides input on safety issues.
  • Understands and communicates Performance Improvement and participates as required.
  • Identifies quality concerns and communicates appropriately.
  • Facilitates change processes and assists others through change transition.
  • Adheres to UAMS Code of Conduct and Department policies.
  • Adopts practices to improve work process, enhance guest satisfaction and reduce waste.
  • Works effectively with team/work groups to fulfill UAMS mission and Department goals.
  • Participates in continuing education by completing the required development hours annually. Participates in professional/institutional advancement of self and co-workers.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
