The RN Critical Care Clinical Learning & Development Specialist serves as an informal leader and trusted resource, supporting staff development and clinical excellence within the unit. This role focuses on mentoring nurses within their first year of practice by providing guidance, coaching, and real-time feedback to build confidence and competence. The educator designs and delivers targeted training on cardiac critical care patient populations, reinforcing best practices and supporting high-quality, evidence-based care. Candidates should bring strong critical care experience, with a preference for a cardiac focus, along with a passion for teaching and developing others in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, teaching, and/or evaluating education and training programs within designated assigned areas/locations while providing leadership and coordination for nursing and inter-professional initiatives and projects. Serve as a member of the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) team, part of a centralized education model. Collaborate with leaders, clinical staff and Sanford operations to identify strategies to educate, mentor and coach staff to enhance their professional development and ability to perform at the top of their scope of practice. Develop alternative methodologies for education based on adult learning principles. Lead and coordinate nursing education at the bedside to support evidence-based practice, nursing initiatives and achieve excellence in nursing and quality outcomes. Assist with skills validations and ongoing competencies.
