About The Position
Cleveland Clinic’s Mercy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) to work nights. The CDU cares for patients who require additional time or treatment to determine if they can be discharged safely or need to be admitted, often while awaiting test results. This role involves providing direct nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and educating patients and their families. The position offers a shift differential of $5/hour and is part of a supportive team within a respected healthcare organization.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
