About The Position

The RN Clinic, Family Medicine delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan in an outpatient primary care setting. This role supports providers by performing patient assessments, administering treatments, coordinating care plans, and assisting with both routine and acute patient needs. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff, the RN helps ensure care is delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with clinical standards and Trinity Health policies. The position functions within a supportive, team-based primary care environment where communication, flexibility, and shared responsibility are essential. Through patient education, triage support, clinical follow-up, and accurate documentation, the RN Clinic, Family Medicine contributes to efficient clinic operations and positive patient outcomes across the Family Medicine service line.

Requirements

  • Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
  • CPR required within orientation period.
  • Ongoing Point of Care certifications as required for department required within orientation period.
  • RN program as evidenced by licensure.
  • One year or more of professional nursing experience preferred.
  • Clinic experience preferred.
  • Coding experience preferred.
  • May include travel to satellites.
  • Computer use.
  • Trinity community clinics – draw and package lab tests.
  • The RN Clinic, Family Medicine frequently stands, walks, and moves between exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • The role involves bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or positioning of patients or supplies.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for performing assessments, administering injections, managing equipment, and documenting patient care accurately.
  • Work is performed in a primary care clinic environment with regular exposure to clinical equipment, vaccines, and routine patient care activities.
  • The RN may encounter patients with infectious illnesses and must follow PPE requirements and infection-prevention practices at all times.
  • The role may involve travel to satellite locations and adapting to varying clinic volumes, walk-in visits, and workflow changes across Family Medicine services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, gather medical histories, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients for provider evaluation and preventive or acute-care visits.
  • Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments according to clinical protocols, and assist with minor in-clinic procedures.
  • Provide patient education on disease management, medications, preventive health, and follow-up care to support long-term wellness.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and communications accurately and timely within the electronic health record.
  • Support clinic operations by maintaining exam room readiness, managing clinical supplies, and adhering to infection-prevention and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with providers, care teams, and satellite clinics to coordinate appointments, diagnostic testing, and continuity of care.
