About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health at Essentia Health, located at Miller Dwan Medical Center in Duluth. The RN will be responsible for organizing and providing patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They will also act as a team leader, delegating tasks to other nursing personnel. The position contributes to the facility's mission and goals, serving the community. The RN will ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies, and provide direct patient care to acute mental health patients, including supporting families through education and updates.

Requirements

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing
• Current nursing licensure in Minnesota
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month

Nice To Haves

• Behavioral health experience as an RN, BHT, or intern/capstone student preferred

Responsibilities

• Organizing and providing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Acting as a team leader and delegating aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions.
• Contributing to meeting the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and in turn serve the community in which you live.
• Meeting the requirements of the Joint Commission as applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.
• Providing direct patient care to acute mental health patients as well as supporting the family by providing education and updates.
