About The Position

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital in northwest Iowa with more than 500 employees. This position primarily assists with chemotherapy infusions and provides direct and indirect physical, psychosocial, and spiritual care for patients with cancer and other related disease processes. The position is employed exclusively by Spencer Hospital and is not affiliated with Avera, although the organizations collaborate to provide services to their communities.

The schedule is 72 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule may fluctuate based on department needs. After one year of employment, the role participates in an on-call rotation every 6–8 weeks.

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification required before completion of orientation or chemotherapy administration.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Oncology experience.
• Oncology Certification (OCN); preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities
