About The Position

The RN Charge Nurse will work on the GI GU Surgical Unit at Texas Health Fort Worth. This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), requiring rotating weekends and holidays. The GI GU Surgical Unit is a 36-bed unit caring for colorectal, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients. The unit will initially open with 20 beds and expand to 36 beds later in the year. Patients may be admitted pre- or post-operatively with an average length of stay of approximately five days. The RN staffing ratio is 1:4 and PCT staffing ratio is 1:12. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations.

Requirements

  • 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • A high degree of confidentiality
  • Positive interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Years Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Nursing Diploma Nursing Req Or Associate's Degree Nursing Req Or Bachelor's Degree Nursing Pref
