About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, is seeking a full-time Charge Registered Nurse to join our amazing Medical Surgical Palliative/Hospice Unit (STC-4). This is a Charge RN role on a 29-bed telemetry inpatient unit located in our Special Treatment Center, with a specialty in Hospice/Palliative. Working on STC-4 gives you the unique opportunity to work with both Hospice/Palliative and Acute Care patients. As an STC-4 nurse you will have a unique opportunity to develop strong nursing skills with high acuity patients. In addition to our internal medicine team, you will have an opportunity to work with our hospice and palliative teams, collaborating to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate care utilizing a multidisciplinary approach. Working on STC-4 offers you not only the chance to develop and use your clinical skills, but also the chance to provide comfort to patients and families transitioning to the end-of-life. Our nurses take pride in caring for the patients and families holistically. On STC-4, you can expect your clinical skills to become greater than ever imagined due to the high acuity of patients and varieties of scope which include: Sepsis Patients, Diabetes care, Transfers from Medical Surgical units and ICU Patients, Admissions from ED, High level Pain control - PCA, Patients with impaired respiratory status, Patients needing care for nutritional support, Infection Control, GI abnormalities, Wound care, Trach Care.

Requirements

Completed an established program in Nursing.
At least (2) two years in the field.
Registered Nurse License.
Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.

Responsibilities

Provide comfort to patients and families transitioning to the end-of-life.
Care for patients and families holistically.
Develop and use clinical skills with high acuity patients.
Collaborate with internal medicine, hospice, and palliative teams.
