About The Position

Part Time RN opportunity on Cardiovascular Surgical Services department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Primarily day/evening schedule. The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
None.
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
AHA BLS-HCP required.
Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Responsibilities

Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.

Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.

Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.

Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
