About The Position

Work at University Hospital in Madison, ranked among the nation’s top heart hospitals, and be part of a high-performing cardiac team delivering exceptional outcomes. Thrive in a fast-paced 23-bed cardiac/telemetry unit caring for intermediate and general cardiology patients, supported by central monitors throughout the unit and strong interdisciplinary collaboration. Provide expert care for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, and dysrhythmias, including management of titratable vasoactive drips. Partner closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab for pre- and post-procedure care, and collaborate with advanced heart failure teams managing pre-transplant and LVAD patients within a growing, innovative program. Grow with us: beginning this summer, the unit will expand to include external pacemaker management and a broader cardiac surgical population, creating exciting new opportunities to build expertise with advanced cardiac technologies in a high-acuity setting. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire
  • ACLS within 6 months
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.

Responsibilities
