About The Position

This role involves providing specialized pre- and post-procedure care for adult patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, structural heart, and interventional nephrology procedures within UW Health's Heart & Vascular program. The nurse will care for a diverse patient population in a 12-bed prep/recovery unit, utilizing strong intermediate care (IMC) assessment skills. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, recovering post-procedure patients, and caring for select higher-acuity patients, such as STEMI and TAVR patients requiring extended recovery. The position requires collaboration with an expert multidisciplinary team, including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, cardiovascular technologists, and Cath Lab nurses, to deliver safe, efficient, patient- and family-centered care. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
  • 6 months of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
  • Specific to EP Lab- Previous moderate sedation experience Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months Required

Nice To Haves

  • Additional years of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred
  • Prior involvement in clinical procedures in area of specialty, including successful work or involvement in other hospital-wide project work Preferred
  • Experience in an academic medical setting Preferred
  • Specific to Gastro/Endo & Generations - Previous moderate sedation experience Preferred
  • Certification in area of specialty Preferred
