About The Position

This position utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families. The role requires maintaining competency reflective of current standards of practice, interacting and contributing to the professional development of peers and colleagues, and integrating ethical provisions and evidence-based practice into nursing care. The RN will recognize and adjust to situations that vary from the norm, promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries, and guide and supervise staff in patient care. Additionally, the role involves enhancing one's own professional growth and development, maintaining a safe therapeutic working environment, recognizing the need for action in emergency situations, and ensuring thorough and timely documentation. Other related duties may be assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois Nursing licensure
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • ACLS and NIHSS required within 3 months of hire.
  • PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience as a staff nurse.
