About The Position

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The nurse works with a supportive team of associates and helps build community and lasting relationships with residents. The role includes assessing and documenting resident status, coordinating care, supervising resident care staff, supporting resident independence, responding to emergencies, and reporting changes or concerns in accordance with state regulations.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, according to state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with elderly people is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with supporting resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
