About The Position

The RN Ambulatory – Pain Clinic provides nursing care to assigned patients from arrival through departure, with quality care and patient safety as the primary concerns. Nurses are respected clinical experts and valued partners in care, serving as mentors, educators, and patient advocates. The role emphasizes professional nursing practice, participation in clinical decision-making, and improving the quality of the work environment. The nurse also assists with clinic operations and supports teammates and providers as needed for optimal patient care. This is a full-time position scheduled for 32–40 hours per week at 550 Munson Avenue in Traverse City, Michigan. Office hours are 6:45 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The clinic offers a small-office environment without nights or on-call work.

Requirements

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
BSN required within five years of hire for applicable hires. For employees hired before July 1, 2024, obtaining a BSN is encouraged.
Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.
Employees must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year they are hired and annually thereafter, unless granted an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an ambulatory setting is desirable.
Previous pain clinic experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide care to assigned patients from the time they arrive until they leave.
Prioritize quality care and patient safety, and handle patients courteously and tactfully.
Participate in clinical decision-making and contribute to improving the quality of the work environment.
Assist with day-to-day clinic operations as needed for optimal patient care.
Assist teammates and providers when necessary.
Serve as a mentor, educator, and health care advocate.
