About The Position

This is an 80% FTE position, Monday – Friday with hours between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. No weekends or holidays are required, but hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The role is located at the Science Drive Medical Center and the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. The Registered Nurse (RN) will practice closely with the Pediatric Orthopedic team to care for patients with various conditions such as fractures, spina bifida, club foot, and spinal fusions. Responsibilities include providing evidence-based, high-quality nursing care via telephone and MyChart, assisting with care coordination and clinic procedures (wound care, incision checks, pre-op appointments, pin pulls), and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve consistent and positive patient outcomes. The RN will also provide education and guidance to patients and families, utilizing evidence and science to guide practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of school of nursing
  • 6 months of RN experience
  • Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state with the licensure compact Upon Hire
  • CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire

  • Applicable clinical certification
