About The Position

Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting at the Poland/Youngstown Orthopaedics office. The role primarily works 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and telephone triage is a significant part of the position. The caregiver assesses patients, develops and documents care plans and health education, administers medications and treatments, assists with procedures and specialized equipment, and responds to emergencies. The position may also cover other nursing roles in the department and travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of recent experience as an RN. Exceptions may apply to current Cleveland Clinic caregivers transferring into an RN role in the same ambulatory setting or specialty, for whom specified clinical experience may be considered in lieu of RN experience.
• Current demonstrated clinical competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education for patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.
