About The Position

This is an opportunity for specialty fellowship or residency TTP program applicants. The OHSU Emergency Department provides around-the-clock multidisciplinary services to clients of all ages across the life span. The department hosts a Level 1 Trauma Center, Triage (including Fast-track and Rapid Medical Evaluations), Adult Acute Care, Adult Critical Care, Observation Unit, and Acute Psychiatric Care. Patients arrive to the ED via ambulance, walk-in, through the transfer center (Trauma & PANDA), and via Rapid Response Team. Based on internal ONA transfers first priority per ONA contract. Our emergency nurses understand the importance of their independent scope of practice and engage in dependent scope of practice decision making with the team. Emergency nurses also provide patient and family-centered care for the full spectrum of illnesses. The ED is responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and coordinating interventions and consultations. The ED Team works determine if the patient requires admission or discharge with resources and referrals. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:5 based on the patients dynamic stability and acuity. Requirements

• Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) by 30 days before the start date (no later than 9/28/2024).
• Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license by 1 week before the start date
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
• Completion of 90 clinical hours of direct-patient care in an emergency department within 12-months of the current cohort start date preferred (for New Graduate Nurse).
• 2-years of current nursing experience in adult acute care, adult intermediate care, adult perianesthesia care unit, or emergency department observation (for Experienced Nurse).
