As RN in the Emergency Department (ED), you will help patients feel comfortable, at ease and supported while receiving treatment. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
  • Trauma experience
  • Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
