The Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant unit is an 18-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with oncology diagnoses admitted for stem cell transplants or readmitted for transplant complications. The unit also cares for patients with oncology diagnoses receiving specialized immunotherapy treatments. Key responsibilities include transplant care, managing central lines, administering chemotherapy, handling high-acuity patients, and providing oncology education. The unit fosters long patient stays, allowing for meaningful relationships with patients and families. There is continuous learning due to the variety of patient conditions and cancers. Exceptional teamwork is a hallmark of this unit, with staff supporting each other to ensure smooth operations across all shifts. The unit welcomes candidates passionate about oncology/stem cell therapy.
