About The Position

Amedisys is hiring an admissions registered nurse to provide home health care. The role performs patient start-of-care assessments and evaluations, develops and implements plans of care, and provides skilled nursing services in accordance with those plans and agency policies. The nurse promotes continuity of care through communication with staff, physicians, families, and community resources, and supports patients through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures.

The schedule is Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Compensation is $78,655.20–$98,326.80 annually and may vary based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Benefit eligibility may vary by position and shift status; participation in the medical-plan-related benefits requires enrollment in an Amedisys medical plan.

Requirements

• Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned.
• One year of clinical experience as an RN; candidates with less than one year of clinical experience must be approved by the VP of Clinical.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient start-of-care comprehensive assessments and evaluations, and develops and implements plans of care.
• Completes OASIS assessments accurately and on time.
• Provides skilled nursing care in accordance with the plan of care and agency policies.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, family members, and community resources to help achieve and maintain continuity of patient care.
• Initiates appropriate referrals when indicated.
• Promotes and maintains patient health through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures.
• Assists patients in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
