About The Position

This is a part-time Registered Nurse position focused on admissions and discharges at Freeman West. The role involves working with Admissions, Bed Control, and Direct Call to ensure appropriate placement of direct admit patients. Responsibilities include completing nursing assessments, monitoring patients until they are transferred to their nursing unit, and assisting nursing units with admissions and discharges. The nurse will also monitor patients in the Admit/Discharge Lounge while they await transportation for discharge.

Requirements

• AHA ACLS within 90 days.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
• CardioVascular Disease CEU hours - 4 per year annually by transcript due date.
• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.
• Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 365 days.
• RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
• Stroke CEU Hours - 4 per year annually by transcript due date

Responsibilities

• Works with Admissions, Bed Control, and Direct Call in the appropriate placement of direct admit patients.
• Completes nursing assessment.
• Monitors patients until taken to the nursing unit.
• Assists nursing units with admissions and discharges.
• Monitors any patients in the Admit/Discharge Lounge while waiting for transportation at discharge.
