Indian River Hospital’s 3E Additional Care Unit provides telemetry and medical services for various cardiac conditions. As an RN on this team, you will learn and enhance your nursing skills through hands-on patient care experience. Your role is essential to ensuring all patients feel encouraged, safe and at ease while receiving treatment. Here, you will join a family of caregivers who are engaged, highly communicative and dedicated. All the while, you will be encouraged to pursue personal and professional development opportunities within Cleveland Clinic. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
