About The Position
Med-Surg nursing is the backbone of every hospital. This role requires unwavering passion, mental toughness, a heart of gold, and strong nursing skills. The nurse will be on the front line of care, getting to know patients as individuals. The role involves attention to detail, dedication to patient care, and a wide range of nursing skills, ensuring there are "never-a-dull-moment". The position is a hands-on, diverse nursing role.
Requirements
- Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Current PALs certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience for a flex RN position.

- 2 years in a related clinical area.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
- Maintaining and advocating a safe environment for everyone.
- Monitoring and engaging with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
- Preventing and treating wounds.
- Monitoring and executing Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
- Ensuring continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
- Advising and consulting with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
- Initiating patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
- Assisting others without being asked to contribute to the team.
