About The Position

The RN Acute Care position provides direct patient care in specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) units with moderate to high patient acuity. The nurse practices to the full scope of nursing care, uses the nursing process, and contributes to evidence-based care models informed by AMSN core curriculum and specialty certification standards. Clinical Educators support individualized specialty education and training for competency validation during clinical orientation. The role values multidisciplinary teamwork, wellness, patient perspectives, and evidence-based practice. Nurses model proficiency by precepting people new to healthcare and/or UCHealth and welcome new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment. The position is onsite at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, Colorado, in the LPH MedSurg North department. It is a full-time day-shift role scheduled for 72 hours per two-week pay period.

Requirements

State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification and any relevant life support certification required for the position level.
BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date; the card must remain valid through 60 days of hire. Renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
If the applicant has less than 3 years of experience, graduation from an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
