About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in Acute Care Services, working 72 hours per pay period, 0.9 FTE, on day shifts. The role requires two years of acute care experience, with critical care experience being preferred. The RN will conduct individualized patient assessments, develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, perform treatments and nursing interventions, provide patient and family education, document patient progress, initiate emergency measures, and maintain confidentiality. The position also emphasizes providing care in a non-judgmental and sensitive manner, reporting patient conditions, and maintaining competency in various patient care areas. Strong clinical reasoning, decision-making, critical thinking, communication, and computer skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Valid/unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in State of Washington.
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Evidence of minimum one year of adult medical/surgical experience within past 2 years.
  • Current BLS (AHA).
  • ACLS, PALS within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to provide clinical reasoning; decision-making and critical thinking.
  • Ability to promote compassion and therapeutic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at the staff, patient and family levels.
  • Ability to maintain quality-working relationship with peers.
  • Strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical Care experience preferred.
  • NRP Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by policies, procedures or protocols.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments patient’s condition and/or the client facility’s policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.
  • Develops plan of care that is individualized for the patient reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and his/her family.
  • Provides individualized patient/family education customized to patient and his/her family.
  • Documents patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to standard resuscitation protocols.
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff.
  • Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
  • Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.
  • Maintains current competency in pediatric, medical, and care of the post-operative patient.
