About The Position

3 South is a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit. The RN will be responsible for taking care of patients with a significant history of cardiac disease or related processes. These positions were opened to specifically help stabilize staffing for our 30-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit. We are actively reimagining this space and starting over with zero core FTEs. These travelers will help with staffing, but will very likely be needed to help precept new hires as we recruit to fill the core positions (many of which will be RN Residents). Therefore, we will seek cardiac-trained RNs who also show a high degree of engagement and willingness to train others. Additionally, these travelers would be the first to float to Med/Surg if needed. 3 South is a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit. Typical disease processes include Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure, Advanced Heart Failure, Syncope, and patients requiring echocardiograms, stress tests, and/or diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization. Additionally, 3 South handles patients with other procedures such as: Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, TAVR, etc. The 3rd Floor will also overflow generalized med/surg patients as needed, or take care of other non-cardiac patients as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with significant history of cardiac disease or related processes.
• Care for patients with Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure, Advanced Heart Failure, Syncope.
• Care for patients requiring echocardiograms, stress tests, and/or diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization.
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, TAVR.
• Assist with staffing stabilization for the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit.
• Precept new hires, including RN Residents.
• Float to Med/Surg if needed.
• Care for generalized med/surg overflow patients as needed.
• Care for other non-cardiac patients as required.
