About The Position

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Riverton Hospital Volunteers assist in the comfort needs of patients, families and guests and enhance the patient and guest experience through a variety of service activities. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements

  • A consecutive 70-hour (6-month) commitment, which entails volunteering one day per week for 3 or 4 hours.
  • Passing a Background Check.
  • Meet Immunization Compliance Requirements.
  • Submit to a TB test.
  • Attend the New Volunteer Introduction Meeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics.
  • Self motivated, flexible and adaptable.
  • Adequate hearing and vision.
  • Maintain and respect professional relationships.
  • Able to work well with diverse populations.
  • Sound mental and emotional health.
  • Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing).
  • Moderate lifting/carrying/pushing.
  • Able to read, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified candidates for the Emergency Department must be 19 years old and older only.
  • Qualified candidates for the Mammography Clinic must be Women Only.
