About The Position

The Technology Leadership Program - Risk & Security Analyst track at Vanguard is a two-year rotational development experience for graduating students. Participants will complete three eight-month rotations in areas such as cybersecurity operations, threat intelligence, risk management, and identity & access management. The program aims to develop participants' ownership, responsibility, and leadership capabilities while they gain exposure to how risk and security practices enable Vanguard to deliver secure, reliable services. The role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to Vanguard's systems, operations, and clients, contributing to safeguarding against cybersecurity threats and operational risks. Participants will work with technology and business teams, analyze threats, strengthen controls, and support risk-informed decision-making through various projects and collaborative efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, Security, Risk, Cybersecurity or related technical/engineering subject matter required
• Strong interest in cybersecurity, threat analysis, risk management, or fraud prevention
• Demonstrated leadership potential, initiative, and ability to take ownership of work
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

Responsibilities

• Support efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity and operational risks
• Analyze potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risk scenarios across systems and processes
• Contribute to reporting, dashboards, or insights that support risk-informed decision-making
• Partner with security, technology, and business teams to strengthen controls and processes
• Gain hands-on experience in risk management, cybersecurity frameworks, and digital ethics
• Apply Agile methodologies to support risk and security initiatives in a dynamic environment
• Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering meaningful outcomes
• Collaborate across teams, share insights, and drive solutions in a supportive environment
• Build a network with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers
• Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship
