Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Risk Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the risk management program, including enterprise risk approach, loss control, loss prevention, and patient safety. The Risk Manager will identify strategies to enhance healthcare operations, reduce risks, and support facility risk assessments. They will provide consultation to leadership, staff, and physicians, and manage occurrence reports to assess risk and liability potential. The position involves analyzing data to identify risk trends, collaborating with the Quality Director on patient safety events, and developing and presenting risk management training. The Risk Manager will also participate in the disclosure of adverse clinical outcomes, serve on committees, and ensure compliance with various codes, laws, rules, and regulations. This includes managing compliance with the medical device program (SMDA) and other regulatory duties. The role also involves reviewing high-risk patient complaints, assisting with claims and suits, liaising with insurance services, supporting safety incident investigations, and recommending policy amendments. Participation in Emergency Preparedness initiatives and support for system and facility goals are also key aspects of this role. The position also emphasizes promoting professional growth through certification and continuing education.
