About The Position

Hermitage Hall, a UHS company, is seeking a Risk Manager to join their team. Hermitage Hall is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment hospitals, serving children and youth for over 30 years. The Manager of Risk Management is a vital part of the leadership team, responsible for the hospital’s Patient Safety and Risk Management Program. This role involves leading risk management and compliance activities in alignment with organizational policies, licensing requirements, CARF standards, and regulatory expectations. The Manager will focus on loss prevention, identifying potential risks, and proposing strategies to minimize exposure and improve patient care quality. Additionally, the role includes delivering risk prevention education, supporting departmental risk mitigation efforts, and coordinating regulatory surveys, accreditation reviews, and licensure audits.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing, social work, social or behavioral science, or other acceptable field preferred
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Experience in a residential setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with CARF standards, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate, track, and analyze incidents, adverse events, grievances, and potential liability exposures.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor risk management policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding risk mitigation strategies and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational departments to identify, evaluate, and address potential risks.
  • Coordinate and support regulatory surveys, accreditation reviews, and licensure audits.
  • Prepare reports, track trends, and present risk management data and recommendations to leadership.
  • Participates in administrative on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis with other members of the leadership team.
