This role provides the Underwriter with account knowledge as it relates to hazards, controls, and management. The consultant will evaluate how a company identifies and manages its inherent risk factors and differentiate the account from others in similar classes of business. This role involves working with larger, more complex, and all-lines accounts. The position requires maintaining a consistent field presence, spending approximately 20% - 50% of the time onsite with customers. Travel to customers may entail long-distance, overnight travel, and/or multi-night trips depending on business needs and territory alignment. The consultant will partner and have joint ownership with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business, and build and maintain productive relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a unified team. Responsibilities include completing all-lines risk assessment evaluations for diverse businesses with moderate to high complexity, writing technically detailed reports, discovering and evaluating customer needs through loss analysis, identifying uncontrolled exposures to influence customers to make improvements, and providing solutions for risk mitigation. The consultant must stay current with technical subject matters, the regulatory environment, and emerging issues, and create a valued customer experience through each assessment and service encounter.
