The Risk Control Specialist assists in acquiring and retaining profitable business through direct contact with prospective and current policyholders. The role provides Underwriting with account-classification information, identifies weaknesses in risk-control programs, and recommends corrective measures to prospects and insureds. The position conducts onsite risk-control evaluations and account analyses, evaluates operations and ministry profiles, and supports accurate building valuations. It also responds to agent and insured inquiries, trains agents on risk-control practices, completes reports and assigned visits on schedule, manages expenses within established parameters, and communicates professionally with insureds, agents, regulators, and colleagues. The role requires extensive travel by air and car, including overnight stays, and the ability to evaluate structures through walking, climbing, bending, and stooping. The employee must be familiar with church operations and conduct themselves in a way that does not alienate or offend people in the company’s church and related-ministry market.
