The Risk Control Specialist assists in acquiring and retaining profitable business through direct contact with prospective and current policyholders. The role provides Underwriting with account classification information, identifies weaknesses in risk control programs, and recommends corrective measures to prospects and insureds. The specialist conducts on-site evaluations and account analyses, communicates findings to Underwriting, responds to agent and insured inquiries, and completes risk control reports and visits within established requirements. The position also supports agent training, maintains expenses within company and department parameters, and represents the company professionally in written and interpersonal communications. The role involves extensive air and automobile travel, including overnight stays. Because the company serves churches and related ministries, the specialist must be familiar with church operations and conduct themselves in a way that does not alienate or offend people in that market.
