About The Position

Federated Insurance is seeking interns for their Risk Consultant Internship Program, running from June 7, 2027, to August 12, 2027. This program offers real-world experience, meaningful projects, and professional growth opportunities. Interns will develop their skills while making an impact. The role requires living in or near the Hartford, Connecticut area due to regular client visits. The internship begins with a training session at Federated's Headquarters in Owatonna, MN, followed by work in the Hartford area. The program aims to equip interns with the knowledge and tools for a successful summer, emphasizing hands-on opportunities, valuable mentorship, and rewarding experiences.

Requirements

Current college students (Junior or Senior level) pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Strong communication skills, adaptability, and an eagerness to learn and grow.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Will not sponsor candidates for employment visa status, such as an H1-B visa.
Does not interview or hire students or recent graduates with J-1 or F-1 visas or similar temporary work authorization.

Responsibilities

Analyze fire hazards to identify potential risks and develop prevention strategies.
Visit client sites within your assigned territory to gather insights and provide actionable support.
Build and foster relationships with clients and internal partners in Marketing and Underwriting by facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Manage assigned workloads, ensuring timely and quality deliverables while maintaining efficiency.
Deliver a final presentation summarizing your internship experience, achievements, and learnings to leadership.
